I had an 05 wagon that I removed the rear air bags and put the Arnott spring kit on. Best thing you can do if you want to run one cheap.

I have not done this job but suspect you will need to remove panel, disconnect all the electrical and feed it through the door to remove door. Also I would suggest unbolting the door at the b pillar.

Talked to new owner. He pulled fuel level sending unit and it was gunked up. He is going to try the additive first and if that does not help he will pull tank screen.

IIRC the reservoir has a built in screen. Replacement will provide new screen. Also, I have heard of hoses failING internally.

Does this sound plausible, 300D moved from south Ga to Chi town

I recently sold an 85 300D that ran/runs great to a guy in Chicago. The fuel that was in the tank when it was shipped up there was probably put in the car in Oct/Nov and the car sat in guys garage...

Change it and make sure you use the correct fluid. Also, on this application, the conductor plate may eventually need to be changed when it starts doing weird things while shifting.

The wifes RWD 14 GLK350 is at 163,xxx miles with only routine maintenance and I don't see any reason why it won't make it to 300k. I've been pretty impressed with it. IIRC they also were available...

Not sure bout diesel fuel but transmission fluid can and will "wick" to the transmission control unit if the transmission pilot bushing does not get replaced during transmission service.
