Well, I went to the FT. Worth PNP and things went much better! There were 3 W123's, 3-4 W126's and several W201's.
I was very much hurrying to beat the 6:00 closing time, but I got there a little before 4:00 and figured I'd have it made. Well, not so much.....
I almost couldn't get the wheels off. Had to go get an exhaust pipe from some ricer to use as a pry bar.
Then I didn't have a 19mm socket to take off the calipers. Dang! Had to work around that.
Does anything stink more than diff fluid! I'm never quite ready for that odorous quality it throws down. Wow!
I was making slow but steady progress. Finally beat the cv's out of the hubs, but couldn't raise the diff to completely clear the hub. Finally decided to try and drop the shocks from the top a bit and that gave the the clearance I needed to clear the hub.
Time was ticking down, then this happened:

So, no time to waste. Had to lay in the rain, and then in a large water runoff that went right under the trunk area, where I was laying.
Well, I got them out finally. Forgot a hook for the clips and that was almost a deal breaker. Used pliers and a small allen wrench. They announced 5 min. left over the loud speaker, and I was throwing my soaked tools into my soaked backpack, grabbed the cv's and ran for the counter. I guess the spacers stuck on the diff seal, and I never thought about them until I got home. I'm assuming they were stuck there as there was none on the half shafts. Doh!
Still, got a good passenger side cv, and a decent driver's side. Still a fun day...

**fyi, I had the 2 back tires under the diff, and I went and got a ricer hood and put it on the tires under the diff. Then the diff fluid just drained down the hood and out of the way....**
