Have you seen this car in person, Hog? I like the sound of it, but can't really tell the condition from the pics...

The hood and trunk lid look to have tired paint, and the passenger's side looks all wrinkled - perhaps it's simply a reflection.

I really like that exterior color.

Well, I'll vouch for the car personally.
It's my old car before I moved onto wagons. My ex and I bought it (she's the one selling it in PA) in California, and I drove it east.

It is a great running car with literally NO rust. Very little blowby and it doesn't eat oil either. I put a lot of work into it- 85amp alt, rear axles, battery, valves, differential, etc, etc.

Downsides are, as you mentioned, paint is faded from Cali sun. And the lower ball joints are creaky for sure. Upper control arms and a few other suspension bushings were replaced, though, before it came East. Idler arm bushing could stand a rebuild too, but that's a half hour DIY.

I wasn't going to post it here, because it's not my car anymore, but I've looked at a lot of them in the Northeast, and the rust and other problems can get serious. This one's had a lot done already. She doesn't know how to work on cars, and now that we've separated, she decided to get a late model subaru wagon for the dog.

Hope this helps-

I wish they all could be California cars.....

(Apologies to the Beach Boys...)

It's at least a grand to ship a car back, added to what you paid for it, plus you potentially can see it up close and personal before laying out the money.

I've found over the years that the perception of "rust free" varies with locality, and having grown up in the desert southwest, I'm privy to what rust free really is. Rust free to a Chicagoian means you can't put your fist through any of the panels....

Disregarding the paint and other dry climate issues, a clean body already on the east coast is worthy of interest.
