Ohm Rating on Fuel Gauge

I'm wondering what the Ohm rating on the fuel gauge is? I'm putting in a second tank that has a fuel level sender in it & want to link it to the dash gauge instead of putting in another one. The new sender is a 35-240 Ohm. My car is an 82 240D.

Thanks!!

OK, Anyone have any idea where I could find this information? I tried emailing Phil at Fastlane, but he didn't have a clue.

Thanks!!

See this for fuel sender ohms:http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/...ght=gauge+ohms

I just put an ohmeter across the two pin terminals on an old 126 fuel gauge that I have around and got 55.3 ohms.

There was a thread that Stevebfl responded to (which I can't find with a "search"), in which I believe he mentioned 90 ohms for the gauge. I'm going by memory on this one so consider the source.

gauge resistance

I measured 68 ohms between pins 3 and 5 on the back of an 83 TDT fuel gauge. The manual shows these pin outs (3 to the fuel sending unit) and 5 is power from the number 12 fuse. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies guys! That helps quite a bit. Looks like my new sender will work as long as I can wire it up right.
