CLK430 Turbo Build Thread.

Wont have any real updates for another week but here is the start. Not my car but I wish it was! I will be installing a custom rear mount turbo kit of my own design on it. The major components will be a single scroll Masterpower T70 turbo .70/.68, Turbowerx exa pump for oil scavenging, 28x7x2.5 intercooler, AEM FIC-8 for tuning, and 440cc injectors.

Cool,so theres actually enough room to mount that thing under there?
how is oil fed?...is it pumped back to the engine or does it use its on lubricating/cooling system?.

Cheers,

The m113 has a 12x1.5mm auxiliary bolt in the oil filter assembly just like every Mercedes engine since 1980. I use a 12x1.5mm to 3AN adapter from Pegasus racing and oil pressure pushes it all the way back to the turbo. A turbowerx EXA-pump then sucks the oil out of the turbo, through a 10 AN oil line and to a 10 AN bung welded to the valve cover.

I have bene looking at doing up a M113 engine and was wondering, do all the M113s lend themselves to forced induction, or is one better then the other. Trying to decide if the extra cost for a 5.4 engine is worth it over a 5L or even a 4.3?

The 4.3 and 5.0 are the friendliest with 10:1 compression ratios. Those ratios can be considered low in today's age of advanced timing control and computer regulated methanol injection. Kleemann supercharged 5.0 boats, i mean sl500's, have trapped in the mid 12's at 7.5psi.

Apparently this is a CLk55 with every Kleemann engine mod and some internal work:

What PSI are you aiming at? Will be interesting to see how much better the M113 reacts to turbos rather then SC. I assume the 5.4 is around 11:1?

I'm doing low boost at 7-8psi for now. The newer 5.4s are 11:1 the older ones are in the 10.5 range.

Making an extension harness for the MAF. Once it's dyno'd tmw the injectors, computer, wideband and intercooler go in.

Done, minus wrapping up the harness.

After using an ungodly amount of heat shrink and a good bit of electrical tape the AEM is fully wiried. The car will get run through it's paces tmw assuming the 1st start is uneventful .

The FIC all wired up and working perfectly:

Hidden from sight. Only the vacuum line running out of the box hints at something...

Update for today:

Gross, I think there might be some Herpes in there:

If this isn't the beefiest electric oil pump lol...

Ugh so that electric cutout he said he had, where'd it go? Amazing welding job.

This muffler probably cost more than half the turbo kit lol:

Performance exhaust turbulence

Performance dent!

The only part of his catback being retained:

Before I head to the shop to put the turbo on I had to do this

What could these be for?

A hoss-ass oil pump maybe?

Silicon sealed:

Mounting nuts from behind:

The Y-pipe which will be the starting point of the turbo up-pipe.

Waiting...
