Server

It seems like the Mercedesshop server may be about to pack it in. Is there anything we users can do to help out?

Achtung Bill Woods! :)

I noticed this a few weeks back.

We would see 300+ members in the middle of a typical weekday, now it's down to 60-70?? Is the counter off, or? I've noticed that the "server is busy" as well since this problem.

Bill Woods?

I'd be more than happy to chip in.

Mods?

We're upgrading!

Yes, we've overloaded our server. It's been a good box for 3 years but, we have outgrown it.

We will be moving to a new server this weekend.
Our site is funded by our parts sales and we were fortunate to have a pretty good sales month in June.

Congrats Bill and the rest of the "shop"!

As a matter of fact, I just made a purchase earlier this week, albeit small.

Keep up the great work.

So, it sounds like we benefitted from my podectomy and heater core replacement in the 300E. I spent about $400 with parts shop, so noone can say I didn't make a contribution somewhere along the line

Thanks for maintaining this great forum for us.

Have a great day,

We're ALMOST there!

We are not fully upgraded yet...

Right now I am running both the new and old server in parallel.
More than likely, I will wait until Friday to make the final transition.
There were some early glitches with the new box that I want to make sure are resolved. We may still experience some capacity and outage issues this week until the final move is made.

The sales go to help keep this all running, and I believe the prices are pretty competitive too...

Red face We're now running on the new server but...

We're on the new server but, I'll be doing some tweeking and fine tuning. As a result, there may be some downtime and errors for the next couple of days.

I have to see the server operating under full load to know what needs to be tuned. Don't get excited if the Shop Forum is up one minute and down the next.
