Hey Bill,

Have you thought about adding a polling system? Something where you can post a poll and see results on people's votes? I think it would be neat. I know delphi forums has this feature, not sure if this software can do the same, but it is sophisticated enough so I would hope it does.

Just a thought, I would love to see votes on cars etc etc, I think it would add some flare to the site.

Yes! As a matter of fact I was working on something along those lines today.
Eventually, we will have polls within the Shop Forum that members can create themselves. In the short term I will try to create a poll on the site somewhere.

There lots of good stuff on the horizon for MercedesShop

Poll test

OK, I've got a test poll up and operating.
Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Uhh Bill,

Where exactly is that Polling feature located, can't find it.

I agree with Ashman, that is something fun we can all participate in.

Thanks for the nice work.

Uhh, Ross...

The poll is hidden in plain view, top center of the Shop Forum, directly beneath the PartsShop banner,

Best place to hide something is in the open.

Now, where did I leave my car keys?

I also find it interesting that, while headlight/lighting discussions started the call for a poll, that member pictures and diesel discussion lead. Fortunately, the one I really wanted, but failed to select in my haste, is gaining ground.

Choose wisely.

Great job on the ballot Bill, maybe you should be called to testify in the on-going battle .

Great job there bill!

looks like lighting is not as popular as we all thought. Sounds like member pics or diesel is going to be the one to become a new forum....

Too close to call???

I'm getting worried. The "Member Pics" campaign was solidly in the lead but, now with 98 ballots counted the "Diesel discussion" group has pulled ahead.

Right now it is:
42.9% Diesel Discussion
39.8% Member Pics

This is too close! Now we need another poll to decide when to end the first poll and count the votes.
When should we stop polling and pick the winner?

Your right on that one Mike!

I'm used to looking in 8 pt font for all the Cool features.

Diesel has my vote.

I say announce the poll will close sometime next week. That way you can post a new poll with the both of them.

Lets just hope it goes smoother than the presidential election has. hehe

Supreme Court not req'd

Thankfully the MercedesShop Poll is no longer a close race. The Diesel Discussion fans have come out in droves.
We will announce a winner at the end of this week.

It must have been that the poll format was confusing to those interested in a "members pics" page, because the candidates name was not fully spelled out. The confusing use of colors and naming caused the "members pics" voters to mistakenly vote for "lighting". Also, research has shown that the "members pics" people are more visually oriented, and focus more on the screen than the mouse, causing them to only partially depress the mouse button, leaving a dangling electron. Before you can call the race, you need to inspect by hand each voters computer to look for hanging electrons.
