With such a following, why not start a franchise of MercedesShop? We could sell anything and everything for a Benz ...

I have been averaging

at least 3 people per week that I am telling about mercedesshop.com web site. Today at the local truck stop diesel pump I wrote the site name down and gave it to a guy in line in front of me driving an early 80's 300D, non-turbo. I told him he could go to this site and get all his questions answered. He said he needed to start doing his own work. Maybe a future fastlane customer.

I even started telling non-owners about this site. Some of the people I know have expressed possible interest in buying a Benz, so I refer them here. I explain that they can learn pretty much everything they might need to know (or ask possible sellers about) regarding the Benz of their choice. I know there are a couple "active" visitors - and I press them regularly to register.

Thanks Guido!
Thanks to all of you for helping to keep MercedesShop up and running and constantly improving. We've come a long way in 2 years but, there's still more to do. MercedesShop started as a vision but, it continues to change as the needs and desires of our members change. We certainly can't please all the people all of the time but, as long as we understand who our core group is and what they want, we'll be ok.

Lets start a raffle and guess the right numbers of members that we'd have by July 4?

Winner gets to select a free merchandise from the shop, proudly sponsored by JCE ...

hahaha

some members may want a long block for a E430 and some may want a long block for a 300D turbo. There goes the profit margin

3900 and counting to 4k! Still about 100 every 12-14 days, so probably 4000 by the time the site finds out if they get to keep their name!

Well, you hit 4k and you get shut down - some celebration. So what will they do when you get to 6k by Xmas? Congrats, anyway! I hope all these members are buying parts, so you can afford that quad Pentium IV, Terrabyte SCSI RAID 5, 1 gig ram server!!!

Thanks John!
Actually, the fact that we keep outgrowing our servers means that we are doing well. We will move to an intermediate server tonight and then on to a dedicated server within 4 to 6 weeks. Yes, our monthly costs are skyrocketing but, our parts sales is more than covering our expenses so far. We are just reluctant to overextend.
