I think a chat room would be beneficial. Perhaps one for each forum??

Since MercedesShop just upgraded the Forum back end this might be possible.

Well MercedesShop, can you make it happen?

If guys do this, you realize that all the married people who visit this site are going to be in deep "Kimchi", and the single people will have to just find mates who "Understand" your addiction!

How will we conduct our lives normally being plugged into MercedesShop 4, 5, no 6.... hours a day? Help.

I already do...

My significant other has no room to squawk, since she could spend 6-8 hours plugged into a boat which is little more than a plastic tube tumbling over Class 3+ and 4 whitewater.

This forum could cost me my practice (look at the time of this post), but maybe I didn't really want it anyway!

We'll have to look into the chatroom idea again. This has come up several times before but, we were unable to do it at the time due to restrictions placed on us by our webhost.
Things change!

I think that another consideration was that a lot of valuable information could be lost this way, whereas a post is (almost) forever, and can be used by many for many years to come. I think I was in favor of it too, but have since been not too sure about it, since I would hate to miss out on what could possibly some very important tidbit of info that (with my luck) would be just the thing for some problem, or niggling question. The again it would be nice to talk to fellow enthusiast. Looks alot like a double edged sword.

Actually it could be a detriment....I stay up way too late as it is, with a live chat, I'd never get to bed

I totally agree with Larry,

It didn't even come to mind that a loss of information might occur.

I withdraw my support for the Chat room, sorry guys.

I'm glad that everybody realizes what would happen if we had a chat room. I would strongly suggest that Mercedesshop.com have a legal waiver set up. That legal waiver is to prevent Mercedesshop.com from being sued by wives and girlfriends.

dtanesq, 3-4 foot waves are nothing. Have you ever tried steaming into 10-12 footers :) Oh ****, are the words out of every skippers mouth, as whitewater rushes over the vessel.

One day (I might find someone "understanding" of both my passions.

Larry Delor 01-29-2001 10:21 PM

Let's hope she doesn't have a mustache! :D

You may not find someone 'understanding' but with some luck, you'll find someone who is ' tolerant' of your passions.

The whitewater I speak of are class 3+ and 4 river rapids - you know, those ridiculous drop offs at high-volumes of cubic feet per second among automobile-sized boulders in the rivers here in Northern California, Colorado, southern Oregon and down in Costa Rica. For saltwater laughs, she has surfed in her river kayak on the coast at Santa Cruz near the Boardwalk (can't remember the name of that wave)and also in Costa Rica.

Pretty amazing for someone who, five years ago, was nearly dead from breast cancer. THAT's an oh-****.
