Thanks for the comments! We got our first order less than 1 hour after I turned on the new FastLane today.

Please let me know if you find any bugs or anything that doesn't look right. I have been troubleshooting the code for quite a while but, may have missed something.

I like the pictures posted with many of the parts. Helps to ID a part name. Great job Bill.

Order Info and Tracking

A few things I didn't mention...

We built order status and tracking into FastLane. Once you have placed you first order, you can login at anytime and check the status by clicking on "My Account". Your full order history is available along with status and tracking for each order.

Another feature is multiple shipping addresses. Some people like to have their parts shipped to their office. You can set up your office or where ever as a secondary location.

We are trying to keep shipping as simple as possible. You only have 2 choices: UPS Ground or Airborne Next Day. We are charging the same rates per pound for anywhere in the US. Basically, all we are trying to do with shipping is cover our costs. If we can get lower rates we will immediately pass them on to you.

Another feature we built in is an on-hand availability check. When you add an item to your shopping cart there is an automatic check of stock status. If there are only 3 of that item on the shelf, you will not be allowed to increase the quantity above 3 in your cart. Hopefully, this will prevent backorders and long delivery cycles.

On the surface, FastLane looks pretty simple. I spent more time developing this application than any I have ever developed. I'm glad it's launched!

Another feature I almost forgot...

Try this
1) Go to FastLane
2) Click OnLine Catalog
3) Enter the year and make of your car
4) Select the model of your car
5) In the search field at the top of the catalog type "filter" and click GO.

You will get a list of all filters for your car!
This is a free text search field that you can search for just about anything. Very COOL!

Great Job!

Just surfed my way around the Fast Lane... Great job!!!

But to my boss's and my wife's dismay, I just added another hour to my online time.

Gotta dust off the old credit card and start using it here. You don't happen to take Diner's do you?

Excellent job, so easy, so fast, makes me want things on my car to break so I can use it.

Fastlane not consistant with Partsshop

I used the text search for filter and found that
it shows a number of filters, but not the main
air filter over the intake manifold. This is a
little strange since the old partsshop did list
this filter but fastlane does not. Now I can't
find the filter with partsshop. Under fastlane
air filter, it only lists the air filter insert
for the air pump.

Thanks.

It shows both. I just tried it. Input "Filter" and click GO. Click on "Air Filter". Next Click "Show All Products". Then click "Air Filter".
You should see a Hengst and Bosch filter. Both are 001 094 78 04. Isn't that the filter you use?

Thanks. When it said "show all products", I thought
that it meant of the ones displayed. That is how it
works when you look up tie rods; it provides more
detail for the left and right parts that were on the
earlier list.
