I was just checking up on prices on brake pads, mine is due definately even though wear sensors are not indicating on dash (burned out bulb maybe?). Pads are I'd say very worn it appears, they are thin, maybe more than an 1/8th or less than a 1/4 of an inch thick.

There are chassis reference numbers I see for my car for front pads.

So I am assuming that I need to check my vin and if I'm lower I choose the one thats - B*******. and if I'm higher than that choose B****** - .

Is this correct?

Also while I'm at it, if I fall under the lower category which has more pads than the higher chassssis number, which are best, the ATE, the MetalMaster, the OE pads? Not concerned with saving a few bucks, only concerned with good stopping and if brake dust can be lessened then fine, if not then I don't care.

thanks,

Alon

Yes you are correct about the vin number, the last seven is what counts. -B****** is up to that vin and B******- is from that vin. Most MB specialty shops I deal with want the Textar. If Textar is not avalible then they go for Pagid. Both are O.E. at one time or another for MB. O yeah and if you buy them dont forget the brake pad sensors should be replaced also

Dr. Parts, Thanks, so the OE Pads by textar are the ones that I should get, Thanks, I'm checking on my total cost. Thanks.
