Would it be possible for the tech oriented forums to have a 'category' that must be selected by the poster roughly equvilant to the categories on the fast lane parts selection, and in the Links by Parts Category Forum?
Seems like you could do a lot more dynamic linking there and in the search function if the user was 'forced' to provide more specifics than a title sometimes chosen for effect or humor as much as relevance.

It is possible to do something like the links by parts catagory but it would be a MAJOR undertaking. Maybe someday!

I hear ya. But just remember, the sooner you start making people enter categories the more threads you get with categories attached to em.
 I think, now that I'm thinking about it, I remember reading a suggestion for year and model info. That might be an even better idea. (Simpler = better, especially when searching.)
