We have (now) 3460 members, but at any one time, its the regulars who often post and reply. And their number? Perhaps (a wild guess) of 300?

What about the other 3160 members?

Just posting a thought.

Good day to all.

I think some people join, ask their question, get an answer and move on. Also, some people may have actually SOLD their Mercedes. (I know this is hard to believe)

The next time we send out a mass mailing I will ask where everyone is.

W126 forever!

Seeing that I intend on keeping my 560SEL forever, I'll be here for a loooong time! It's been a blast so far and rather addicting I might add. Incredibly helpful as well!!

Nice Toros

W126, I like that 1970 Toro of yours. I've wanted a first generation model ever since I sat behind the wheel of a new 1966 in an Olds showroom. I was only six at the time and didn't have a good trade, so I had to walk away from the deal. Did the 1970 still use the drum speedometer?

Toro

Paul,

Yep, the Toro had the drum (Jag like) speedo from it's inception until 1970.

Fun to drive -- no Mercedes mind you, but they are exceptionally solid cars and well made. I can cruise @ 70 mph with very little wind noise (better than many new cars) and when I hit the bumps, nary a rattle. Again, it drives tighter than many newer cars.

My car, a "GT" designation, (400 HP, special cam, tricked out tranny, etc) has the same motor as the the "W-30" optioned Cutlass 442s. That means that the 455s were hand assembled. Factory blueprinted, if you will...

Thanks for the kudos!

I think I've seen a few of them in the movies - car-chasing bit. Didn't know what kinda car it is. Powerful ya?
Thanks for the pic.
