I think it would be a great idea to have a W126 forum. There are plenty of members with these models, and I think it would be very busy.

Thanks

I think the forums are sufficient to have everyone share their experiences, problems, passion and joy in the MB. Even with a W126, I find it has some common grounds that can be related to the W126.

No doubt the W126 is popular - but so too are the W124s and W123s.

But of course, I pay special interest to matters affecting W126.

So glad to have our W126 in common.

ps. Merv - from the look of the pic you sent, you've got yourself a real spunky car which I'm sure is lucky to have an owner who takes great care and pride in it. Just curious, has your W126 a name?

pps. why not do a headcount like what DuckMuck did in the open discussion forum?

ymsin,

Err....a name for my 126? Geee, have not really thought about that, but since you mentioned, maybe I should start thinking about it, hehehe

Well, my car in those pics is in its adolescent stage, still room to grow. Pretty much untouched. The next few months will see it, or rather, her, going for a makeover. Nothing wild hopefully, but more like adding a hint of sportiness and yet giving her an added touch of elegance. But it takes time, I need to consider carefully the entire setup, especially selection of rims and bodykit.

I shall keep you guys posted of my progress.
Cheers!

Mervyn

YMsin, thanks for the accolades. That'll spur me to greater heights, my 126 included!

I think each of us take pride in our MBs, and no matter whether it is modified or in its original state, it'll always be part of us.

One thing that the webmaster might consider is having folks who post identify the chassis and/or engine series involved. The forum could then have a filtering criteria so members interested in W126 info can forgo discussions on W201 wipers.

I do try to post the words "W126" in the primary subject line, more so to draw an exclusive interest to W126 - which I think is really a fantastic make.

Hope I didn't make you feel bad, Oliver.

W126

Ditto on all the above comments! Great idea to post W126 in the subject line -- I check all new posts and read most and there's a lot of cross-over. Great forum!

W126: Last of the great MB's IMHO...

I'll do that too - where applicable, post the word "126" in the subject line.

Great! Anymore 126 owners out there? Maybe we should start to know each other.......YMsin, you're the first.

Merv - should we do a head count in a new thread (as it would be irritating to keep opening new pages in a new thread).

Do you want to limit the head count to W126, or to a particular model of W126 as it is quite a large production ... from 280SE/L to 600SEL.

YMsin,

I think the W126 sub-forum should include all W126 models, since they all share the same chassis. As for having the entire range from 260 to 600, S, SE and SEL, it'll present a great opportunity for us to learn about which model has that which another do not. Remember our "idle control relay, aka OVP" saga?

Any comments anyone?
