I just got a cell phone for the first time about a week ago and it has web access. I thought it would be pretty cool to check out the site on my phone...but for some reason it wouldn't let me log in. I tried about eight times over the course of an hour and I'm pretty sure I didn't spell my name or password wrong all eight times. I wasn't using caps, either.

Does anyone have any insight as to why this is?

I certainly don't envision myself logging on via phone very often, but it did occur to me that the search function could be very helpful if I ever find myself stuck on the side of the road with some issue.

Have you added that (Web) to your phone service? My Motorola uses "Open Wave" and I needed to add that to my Nextel Contract (so you know how much data is going to co$t) My Treo is unlimited media so once I code into the phone all features are activated.

I've got a Treo 650 on Sprint. Once I logged on to mercedesshop.com once, I just pick it of the list at the top and it logs back on automatically. Don't really know why I don't have to enter a password on the phone like I do on my computer, but don't question my good fortune when things work right.

Yes, it formats strangely and takes forever. Maybe it's better if you have EVDO service, but I definitely don't have the patience for my regular dial-up speed phone.

Of course, it's better than nothing in a jam.
