Idea for thread or section

With all the fantastic topics around on engines and servicing, I wondered.

Would it be a good idea to create an area of the forum containing one thread per engine - each thread would contain images of a particular engine type?

So for instance you could have a thread on the 603 engine. The thread would contain pictures of that engine from any angle, accompanied by a little bit of text from the poster stating what part of the engine is being shown, and the relevant problem/solution?

I'm sure it would be a great place for people to look in if they were thinking about doing a job.

For instance, look at this picture I found:

That picture very clearly shows where the EGR valve is on an OM606 turbo engine.

I'm sure there are loads of people here with all kinds of pictures of various bits of their engines who would love to upload them to the server for future reference. It would make a lot of people's jobs a lot easier.

I would also suggest that each engine thread (each engine would have one thread only) be limited to information posts only - no discussion whatsoever. Keep it nice and tidy. Only images of a technical nature - no posts allowed where people are just posting to show their engine for the sake of it?

Talking

We could certainly do it if others think it would be helpful.

Not a bad idea.

Problems are systemic on all MB engines.

On M104 engines, there are a ton of posts regarding the plugging of the metal inlet tube to the intake manifold that recirculates EGR vapors from the EGR valve.

Pics of this would be helpful.
