Hats off to Phil!
I have to say I'm profoundly impressed with my recent dealings with Phil @ FastLane.
Needed a new blower motor for the A/C on my '92 300SE. Old one was drawing too many amps and cooking the very expensive controllers. Ordered it on the website and it showed up at my door just a few days later. Swapped it out with the original - getting the squirrel cage off the old motor was a challenge. Turned the switch - nothing, nada, zilch. This is on Sunday afternoon - guess I'm taking the spare car to work on Monday.... Didn't want to reassemble old motor, who knows how many times you can R&R the squirrel cage before something gives? Called Phil Monday AM and explained the problem. No questioning my installation methods, no suggesting I did something to ruin the new motor. "I'll send you an e-mail and let you know what to do..." I was completely OK with this. Got the e-mail a few minutes later - he's having the replacement motor FEDEX'd overnight!!! Without my even sending the original back first!!!! I got the new motor Tuesday and it works just fine, so the first replacement was definitely defective. New motor draws a tidy 25A at full blast, as compared to the 36A from the original. That's more like it.... NOW THAT'S CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! |
