In praise of Phil and Mercedes Shop....

I have a very positive opinion of Phil because he has an incredible memory of individual customers and builds sincere relationships with them. He's also a very genuinely likeable and nice guy.

One time I was very tired from heavy travel and work and sleep deprived and getting a hard time from my Boss and didn't get my part on time. Ironically he had already shipped it free and quickly when my original was defective.

I got on my PC and vented on Phil who was actually the hero because the part showed up on the truck ...like 30 minutes later. I felt like a total idiot.

I've seen a lot of Internet suppliers go under that charge prices in the same range as Mercedes Shop. They are very competitive. The other one I like is FCPGroton but they only do SAAB and Volvo.

The final thing is if you are lucky enough to live near a warehouse, parts usually show up the next day! Thats as fast as going to the local store because usually you can't get there rightaway anyway..
