My browser is being hijacked by mercedesshop?

Something on this page is redirecting my browser to some other page that's asking me to sign up for all kinds of offers.

I've never had that exact problem but a related one. Try this: Go to the bottom of the page and there's a drop down in the left corner that has the choices of Normal or Low Graphics. Try switching to "Low" and see what it does. On mine, the only difference it made was to eliminate the ads. Everything else was the same.

I had that happen once in the past week or so. I had to kill my browser to make it go away. When I restarted the problem ended and has not recurred.

I was using Safari 3.1.1 and fired-off a whining, complaining note to Mr Jobs.

The same thing happened to me about a week ago. I had to log out, dump Safari cache and reboot and it went away. Before I did that, every time I tried to go to a new page, I'd be redirected to a website that wanted me to sign up for free cr@p.

Did a spammer hack the site?

I'm not shocked with advertising. I expect it. What I referred to was not advertising.

Go find some conspiracy theories.

I was having a problem with Safari, so I switched back to Firefox. I was having so much of a problem, I couldn't even pay my bills online because Safari wasn't even loading up the pages. The only problem I have with Firefox is that I can't post ads on CL, since I get an error message with the reCapture.

Yesterday morning, about 0332.21c, my Norton Systems Works detected and blocked an attack from 80.93.48.89, 80's computer/server...

Norton labeled it as a "High Level Intrusion Attempt" and in the advanced details area, the Risk Name was "HTTP Malicious Toolkit Download Activity" ...

Listen, I don't mind reading ads that I'm interested in...but, just like my frickin' snail mail box out front, I'm tired of having to dig in the box, pull the crap out, carry it to the house, go through it to be sure legitimate stuff didn't get mixed in with all that waste of newsprint flyers that do just that if you happen to be buttery-fingered enough to drop said bundle during a 25mph breeze, then you waste time and have to pay for the priviledge to throw the crap in the garbage because some frinkin' tree-hugging SOB in some God-forsaken part of the world doesn't want me to burn the trash in my own backyard during daylight hours...well F him, I burn it in my mini-Webber in the dark, when goats are running free and for the taking and the smell of roasted goat flesh and newsprint confuses the best of the Bar-B-Q'ing crowds...

As for my computer...if I could find Mr. 80.93.48.89's computer, I'd blast his HD with my 12 guage, then get him on the ground and mash his nads so bad his Grandfather wouldn't be able to have kids...

Leave my computer alone...

You didn't help me pay for my system...

You didn't ask for permission to be on there...

I didn't ask you to send me anything...

And, if you need money that bad that you have to "sneak into" others' computers, maybe you need a different job, because you, obviously, can't rob banks...

And, if you're coming after someone specific because of what they said on the forum, then you need a F'ing life...if you're so thin-skinned that what I said, or anyone else for that matter, upsets you that much, don't be too surprised that some other whack-job that you might have pissed-off with your antics might come looking for you, PHYSICALLY, and take some of those actions I suggested above...

I'm an "Idea" kind of guy...

You, buddy, just got my imagination going this morning...

Best of luck to ya' if someone happens to meet you in, or near, a dark alley...

Ditto. I have gotten that 2 days in a row when being on this site only. The address I saw was http://80.93.48.89/cgi-bin/i38.cgi?user1...

It seems to be connected to some of the ad content that gets loaded. I hope the admin can do something about it. This is the only time my Norton has fired off in a year.
