Can I disable the ' extended' information ?
I am on a really slow dialup... 9.6 kbps often.... 12 kbps right now...
Ever since the forum changed so that the original post title would ' roll over' ? and display the entire original post I have been reduced to even slower access to the forum... Is there some setting in the user CP or somewhere I can access which will put me back to the old way.. where I can just see the title for the thread post and then click on it if I want to read that post ? When I take my laptop to the library the extra info is great... so it would be even better if there is a simple toggle I can use to control how my downloading of the forum happens.. Any and all suggestions appreciated... thanks, Greg |

Hey Greg,
It's been annoying to me as well. I don't think it can be selectively removed by individual members, but, I'll confirm it with Bill when he returns from vacation. |

Bottom left of this page, there is a drop down menu. Select Dial Up style.
Does that fix it?

I just disabled Preview Text. See if that helped.

I found this thread wondering why I couldn't roll over a thread title and see a preview of the first post. I just upgraded to IE7, used it for about five minutes, and downgraded back to 6. I thought that might have something to do with it.

I liked that feature and would like to see it back. Is there anyway to modify it for personal preferences?

I liked the feature too as it allowed me to get an idea of the thread before committing to entering it.
It was actually faster for me, but I have FIOS. I guess I can live with it if it helps Greg.

Unfortunately, no. It is a global feature. We can either have it on or off.
