Have you heard my idea for mine? Leave the leather ont he doors creme, but paint the rest of the panels black. sooner or later, I will two tone my whole interior. It will look classy yet racy att he same time if I am correct in my thinking of how it will turn out.

I like your idea of painting the panels, but I would think the best way would be to recover them.

Also remember there are different panels for the 300ce. so you would want some that match yours exactly as far as layout.

If lucky, you should try to just find some already in black.

doh!!!
my bad for not being specific...
i meant the exterior body mouldings...(lower gray)
alon i think you have yours painted to match your car color right?

i have all black interior...
though i wouldn't be opposed to later with more money in the bank, possibly two tone the leather seats with gunmetal gray and the door panel leather with gun metal gray...wooo hooo....

you may be able to source used panels from the MB boneyards

you may get new ones from partshop etc.

Hey rich, are you planning on just doing the panels on the doors? If you really want to do it right, you need to do all the side panels, the rocker cover, and the bumpers.

Replacement parts would probably be expensive.

I would think just painting yours would be fine. You can most likely always get a brand new set to replace them with that are factory oem and all, if you wanted to do so for collector reasons.

Though I'm under the belief a collector either keeps the car bone stock and 100% OEM, or he collects the car and makes it his own.

To me painted out is worth more because I don't have to go through the expense or process of painting them. But to some, 100% Original is worth more.

It all depends on the collector.

I plan on keeping my car forever, maybe even being buried in it one day ehhe but I would never want to return it to stock, and I wont be selling it ever. so in my case, keeping 100% original is not worth it.

Hey mushedroom,

Do you know how to remove these doorpanels and if they can be fixed?

Mine got stuck between the fender and cracked when I opened the door one day... (see picture) So I'd like to fix it somehow.

Thanks,
Any idea how to get these panels off? I tried to remove it yesterday but it's impossible (at least to me ) to figure out how to get them off.
