What is the seat cover material MBTEX, does parts shop carry this sort of thing. and how much should this cost? I think this is what it is called. It it a better product than vinyl as far as durability?

MB Tex is vinyl. It is VERY durable. We don't stock seats but we can special order them.

If you are looking for just the material, try World Upholstery. I know some on this forum have reported some problems with them, but everytime I've dealt with them they've been wonderful. You might also try Ron's Restorations, he specializes in MB interiors. Ron's at 770.438.6102. You can send your seats to him and he'll restore them.

That stuff seems tougher and more durable than any vinyl I've ever seen. My car has MB Tex seats and they're 24 years old and look like new.

As comfortable as leather, if not more so, with none of the upkeep.

Tex is tougher than steel. Seriously - it will out-live your steel seat spring box!
