Dear site organisers,

Before anything else, I have to say thank you for setting up and running this excellent resource. I've made considerable use of it so far and, one day with more experience under the belt, I hope to be able to contribute to it as well.

I've just been reading the featured cars articles with interest. The information is excellent and tends to make me drewl for a big, pacey and beautiful modern merc!

But one thing I think might prove interesting is to draw comparisons between rival companies and their rival cars. Here I'm thinking mainly Merc, BMW and Audi but also perhaps some of the other prestige companies where relevant.

Take the sport class for example. It might be good fun to compare the E36 with the M3 and TT Quattro 1.8L Turbo; or maybe the E55 with the M5. Naturally a comparison between the mighty S500L, the 750iL and the S8 would be interesting too.

Other categories like the estate range, the soft 4wds, coupes, cabriolets would also make for revealing comparisons.

Just a thought but frankly, I'm not going to bat an eyelid if nothing changes. This site is fantastic just the way it is.

Regards,

David Rayment.

Hi David-
Thank you for your comments. All I can say is...

So many cars...so little time!

We would love to drive everything out there but, it's tough enough just to find time to drive the old and new Mercedes. To be honest, it is unlikely we will do a "German shootout" or a German vs Japanese luxo comparo. Most of the people on this site have already made up their mind that they like Mercedes so that is where we will focus. We have 2 MB dealers, 1 independent and 1 Mercedes-Benz, that are kind enough to let us drive anything on their lot. We have several new reviews planned.

Our next big review is planned for June 23rd. We were invited to drive several of the new Mercedes at Richmond International Raceway. We'll get to see how they handle at speed on the high banked ovals, a twisty autocross circuit and perhaps the skidpad. We're so excited it's hard to sleep at night! Stay tuned...
