W108 Outside mirror question

I have a 67 250S W108. I ordered new mirror glass and ring but doesnt fit. The site was peachparts they said exact fit. So my question is, do I have the wrong mirror on the car or the replacement is wrong? I attached a picture.

Thanks,

That is for the late 1967 and up mirror. Yours is an early mirror type. Partway through 1967 was when they changed the mirror style. You have the wrong glass and retainer. Your mirror is correct for an early 1967 car. The later mirror won't fit anyway, unless different holes are drilled (different hole spacing). Try ordering one for a 1966 W108 if there is any confusion.

Answer

You may as well return that one.

I have not found a source for the early one, though the Classic Center may have it.

Thanks for the info. I want to keep the original mirror for sure so I will find the glass somehow.

Either Phil or Lee can help you with the return.

FYI...
If you remove the old mirror and take it to any local professional glass/mirror shop they can easily duplicate it. No such luck with the trim piece however.
