Location,location

Have been a visitor to this site on and off for a couple of years now and was so impressed by the quality input, that I've now registered myself.I wonder if some of you chaps could help me out here,I understand people's need for privacy, but why when you register can't you put down at least your country of origin? Most of your members are probably american citizens but some of us chaps come from further afield.I'm not trying to open a can of worms here, but whats the big deal here are some of you out there embarrassed to admit even what country you come from?
I'm a Brit and proud of it.It can make a difference when you're seeking advice on some technicality to know where someone is from. This is not trying to get anyone's back up so please don't take offence to this post. This is a site with many remarkable and highly knowledgebly members onboard. I'm not trying to critize, merely asking for some co-operation to make my visits more beneficial .Thanks Bear

The option is there, it's up to the individual to put the location in, seems a lot of folks do prefer to keep their location private. There was a short period of time when the location option was gone, but was brought back by popular demand.

Howdy All,
It's Nice to aee where people are from. You might see someone from a place that you might want to visit and ask them a question. Or you might want to avoid

I find it especially strange when someone puts in an ad that is
similar to this:

For sale: 1964SL good shape. No price. No location. No email.

The fellow must not want to sell.

I am in British Columbia, Canada.
