Try your bookmarks again now that the earlier problems have been rectified.

What if there is a real server malfunction and Forced Induction's infractions just disappear

Surely such a thing would never happen. Surely . . . .

I believe the usual comment here is: "You get what you pay for."

I've been on other boards that are way harder to use, are less reliable, and are jammed with useless promos from list sponsors.

This one works 99 percent of the time or more....

If you want to keep a thread long term, then print it to PDF and save it on your own computer. This thread should be deleted.

As noted in the server performance thread, the bookmarks you posted all appear to have a double slash at the end of them, which is technically an invalid format. The old server must have been set to ignore this. I have a trick up my sleeve that may be able to account for this, but I don't want to mess with the server while everyone is on it - I will try this fix later on tonight.

I appreciate everyone's patience as we move the server to its new home. I am a firm believer of the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", however, the old server was running an older, out-dated version of vBulletin that had a few security holes. It would probably be only a matter of time before the server was hacked. The Pelican Parts forums get about 2-3 times as much traffic here, and we've been fine-tuning that configuration since 1998. So, all will be good, but there will probably be one or two hiccups along the way. Thankfully, I think that the most difficult part of the process is out of the way.

Thanks again for your patience and continued support,

Wayne

It's a doggone good forum. Someone redid the Landrover forum LRRF and it is not so good anymore; actually pretty ugly. This one is a good one.

I checked my bookmarks. Only this web site is showing double //. These were compiled with many different versions of Firefox, not just a recent occurrence unless the updates went into my bookmarks and added the // at some point, but why only this site?

It's quite possible that there was a site that had a bad link, or there was a misconfiguration in the past. When I was researching this issue, I found a few people who mentioned those possible causes. I still have that fix to try - obviously if you have this problem then others may too. It involves updating a global .ini file on the server, which means resetting it - I only want to do that later on tonight.

Thanks again for your feedback, and I apologize for the frustrations. Being on both the server configuring end and the user end, I know that it's annoying. After tonight, no more changes for a while!

-Wayne
