Peach Parts International Shipping
 

Go afternoon fellow enthusiasts,

Would the Peach Parts international customers like to have USPS, Fed Ex and other similar shipping carriers available to deliver parts? It would be faster than the current freight provider and cheaper overall. Any thoughts?

I think you might get a customer in Holland if you could send directly instead of via bongo or whatever. Don't get me wrong if you are in a hurry and money is no object UPS is great but in the real world waiting for a few weeks for a part is no big deal so long as the price is right.

Dutch customs, however, are a bit of a nightmare - import taxes can seriously make a dent in your "savings".

Our plan is to not use Bongo anymore because it’s more expensive than many of the other shipping organizations such as USPS, Fed EX etc...We have much cheaper international shipping rates now compared to recent periods to better support our international enthusiasts.

Right - Pelican ships a lot of International packages, so we'll be using our rate structure for Peach and pass the savings on to you guys!

There is absolutely nothing inexpensive about Bongo. Time you pay their fees I might well go to the dealer and buy over the counter. I doubt it would be more. I don't really understand why Peach parts will not ship to Canada in particular. They did before. Thousands of other sites do so not sure what the problem is really, it is just a bigger stamp.

USPS.... I WILL NOT accept international parcels from UPS... Their fees and duties are outrageous....

UPS is so expensive because the bought the border brokerage houses. Now they funnel their own freight through them so they can burn everyone with a "brokerage" fee. This is of course double dipping as far as I am concerned and I am sure there must be a law being broken somewhere. At one time most things in regular mail or shipping were not subject to brokerage fees, not anymore. A broker is someone that imports goods into the country for a customer and handles paperwork and duties/taxes. General mail freight did not fall under this classification because there is no paperwork that needed to be done, so no fee. Well guess what, they charge you now for doing absolutely nothing.

Both UPS and FedEx (Ground) charge obscene extra fees for "brokerage".

I only agree to using them when the value of my shipment means that I am, in a certain sense, 'recovering' these fees through my large-scale savings.

However, it must be said that part of what UPS and FedEx are charging is Canadian taxes and, if applicable, duties. The government gives them no choice on that. In many cases (they haven't got enough CBSA agents in the postal terminals to catch every package) if you import via postal service you have to pay that as well, plus a $5 import fee.

If I recall correctly, the actual UPS brokerage fee is $25 up to a certain amount, then $35. The rest is taxes/duties.

People in some areas seem to never get hooked for postal import fees, others seem to pay all the time. I get by paying about once very four or five packages (unless it's a big item... they always hit the large boxes).

UPS only charges a $35 fee???????? That's crazy talk. Last time somethign got shipped through them by mistake, they wanted $90 on a $175 package. I told UPS to send the package back. When a manager at the place I made the purchase at called to ask why I returned it, I told him the brokerage fees, and she said that she would have returned it too... Shipped the same package through the post office, and only paid $15 in charges.
What most people don't realize is that when shipping across the boarder, customs fees and taxes are not just charged on the value of the package, but also based on free trade agreements... some countries have no fees on certain items, etc... It's a real mess.... I prefer post the whole way...

It is plain and simple rape. I have shipped hundreds of packages through the mail and I have never been burned like UPS, I guarantee they are pushing packages through and charging brokerage for doing absolutely nothing. The fees are sometimes 50-70% of the purchase price. Tax I will pay, no problem. Giving these crooks money like that for doing nothing no way. I recently shipped a package from CA and it was $285.00 shipping in, UPS delivered and wanted $90.00 for "brokerage fees" Thieves, that is all they are.
