Password encryption
I'm a little curious about what V Bulletin uses to encrypt passwords as we login to our user accounts.
I've been working with WireShark for class and was playing around looking at packets as I logged into the forum and I can see that my user ID is displayed but the password is not so VB is doing some sort of encryption of the password. Is this standard procedure for VB or an extra that can be added on. Mainly I'm just curious about the security of log in attempts. |
