Policy change on picture availability?

G'day Folks,

Does anyone know if there has been a change in policy regarding the use of picture useage on this site?

I was under the impression that the forum wanted as many pictures as possible (well of the good stuff!) saved on the forum servers rather than loosing the pictures in threads when they get deleted or removed on personal space share sites. I've seen several posts from forum moderators asking for more pictures or replacement pictures for some threads.

For this reason I have been making an effort to upload all of my pictures (and boy do I take a lot of them particularly if I'm writing up a DIY) so that everything is in one place - for the good of the "all". I'd like to point out that this is can be a bit of a pain in the arse particularly for larger threads that I've done such as the 722.118 rebuild thread (722.118 Automatic transmission rebuild (Monster DIY))

Anyway because I have been posting pictures here I occasionally post links from BenzWorld to here - however it seems that they are not working anymore. Now this could be a problem with "that other site" but I get the feeling there has been a change in policy here because lots of threads no longer show pictures here on Peach Parts when you are not logged in.

So can someone enlighten me?

Has there been a policy change?

Does Peach Parts still want people like myself to post pictures here - 'cos if it is a problem I can take the pictures elsewhere!

FYI

There has been no change.

Benz World is a blocked competition website.

Thanks for the reply Roy.

I don't understand why BenzWorld is considered to be the competition though - they don't sell spares as well now do they?

Anyway if that's the the way it is - that's the way it is.

I guess if I want to link pictures to this forum and other forums I'm better off using a share site.

Hmm

My mistake.
We are not blocking them.

It appears they have changed how pictures are served up to other websites = the picture link is only good for a short time then goes dead...

Er sorry for the late reply - are you still having problems with that?

According to the statistic on my "account"

"You are currently using 52.86 MB to store 1,031 uploaded attachments." I guess you're not quite there yet!
