Me Amigo - Benz community lost one of the best

I just found out today about the passing of my dear friend and collegue Phil

I have worked with Phil for over 13 years and it brings back memories of the Mercedesshop gang and all the enthusiast.

Never, not once did I ever experience anything but a positive attitude and a general willingness to help anyone in any situation.

Phil will be missed by many.

My thought, condolences, heart and prayers go out to not only his immediate family, but his extended family here and throughout the Mercedes-Benz community.

Potomac Pat

Show your respect for all the efforts Phil put forth over his many many years of helping us.

I just called 6 different places for the same 2 parts and received 14 different answers with pricing ranging from $1.61 to $39. I never got that from Phil.

Phil's funeral fund. EVERYONE PLEASE READ

Wow, I'm not the only one.

I've only been a Benz owner for about two and a half years now. I've only bought parts from Phil a few times, but from my very first order I was sold -- Phil was going to be my expert parts guy that I was going to be loyal to! I wasn't going to run off to some faceless internet monstrosity to save a few bucks. Phil knew when I needed more parts I didn't know I'd need to do a certain job. Phil was looking out for us!

Guys like him are why I like mailorder. Why deal with somebody local who doesn't know your car, doesn't like your car, and charges more? Find somebody somewhere else like Phil, who knew the cars, liked the cars, knew the parts, and liked the customers; who had enthusiasm.

He was happy in his work. Who wouldn't want to do business with such a guy? And now I find out, I was not alone. And we find out, sure, he was happy in the rest of his life.

Those of us left behind have lessons to learn and have our work cut out for us, too. We need to take care of ourselves for the other people in our lives. Pay more attention to what you can do for your cardiovascular health and lower your risks. They may not be easy, but they're necessary. The information is easily found.

Pay attention to things like life insurance.

And now Pelican Parts needs to find another guy like him. If he was one in a million, there are 299 left out there in the nation, and I don't know how they're going to find and hire one of them.

And we need to be more like Phil!

To the family of Phil, I have had a long relationship with Phil, who would put me in touch with Roy if he did not know the answers, he indeed took the time to talk, though if he was having one of those no time for the bathroom days he would call me back even if it was the next day. People like Phil are very hard to come by, and I hope he is with his ancestors. I will pray for his soul and remember him fondly.

I'm very sorry to hear of Phil's passing. He was always helpful to me and got it right the first time. Always dependable and a joy to talk to.

God speed my friend and please give the Sam Man a treat when you see him.

One week and a day later, we're all still pretty sad about this. We do invite people to contribute to Phil's Memorial fund - we'll be matching donations up to a point. I have to figure out how to donate to the fund without the tax man getting involved (since Phil was an employee - I have no experience in how this works).

Phil was a problem solver.

Phil was a problem solver. Something went wrong with your order - Phil was right on it and solved it. Gave a guy Peace of Mind knowing that his parts would arrive pronto. Sometimes, I felt like my parts arrived before I hung up the phone.

We need more like him.
Rest in Peace Phil.

Hello

Hello,

The other day I saw notice Phil had passed. I was too upset to read the notice Wayne sent out from Pelican. Today I ventured and felt horrible but I feel better after reading all the good stuff about Phil and how much he was loved.

Jennifer please feel better knowing you had a wonderful Father, I persoally never knew mind, and he had so many friends he never meti in person. Yes he never met a Stranger.

I use to tell my Wife that don't worry Phil is getting what I need. I wish Phil could read how much he is missed maybe he is.

I have gladly made a contribution if you are still short let us all know we can dig deeper. I'm honored we all can assist you in your time of need.

I Know Roy loved you Father and give Roy my sympathies and thank Roy for making it easy for use to help using PayPal and Chip-in site.

RIP Phil, Gone but not forgotten

I remember calling PP for the first time not knowing what to expect for CS and if I was going to get someone knowledgeable to help me find the parts I needed. Not only did I get someone knowledgeable, but I got Phil Reinhardt, who was kind as could be, willing to help, and so smart about MB's. To his family, our thoughts and prayers are with you right now. Phil was appreciated by this community so much, and I'm truly sorry that this happened.
