Reset "New Posts"?

G'day Folks,

I don't expect that this problem happens to many of you 'cos most of you live in the US of A. Being in a different time zone, however, sometimes has its benefits but quite often after logging in, the forum gets shut down for maintenance...

...this logs me out - and then I loose my place on the "New Posts" list

Is there anyway to reset my New Posts to an earlier time?

At the moment I clear my browser history - wipe it all clean - then I get posts for the last 24 hours in one window so long as I don't log back in. I then log back in via a different window to reply / give "wisdom" (ha ha!)...

...it is kind of workable in a way so long as the forum wasn't that busy in the last 24 hours - but it is a bit of a pain in the arse.

Is there an alternative solution?

Sorry

There is no way to reset New Posts to an earlier time.

The solution I have found is to keep that particular browser window 'open,' then open another browser window for each page of New Posts. Never click on these 'open' windows.

Simply open another browser window to the PP forum, and reference the open browser window(s) as you will, using one real time browser window find threads that have interested you from the left-open browser windows. When website maintenance occurs, the windows are still left open, as you are devoting a new real-time browser to surf the different forums. Once you're caught-up with New Posts, then close out the windows. Should solve your Q.
