Later Diesel Discussion....

Well it appears the forums haven't changed much in the last few years....this last week has been especially bad I feel....

Appears everyone is so hostile on some virtual message board....which is odd...but I suppose it is what is wrong with the world....we dare not fight for out right to freedom but by god dam I will fight you tooth and nail on this board....even though I never physically meet that person...

I've meet some good friends, and I have some good friends who enjoy me...but the 10% of society that tends to run off the intelligent people have succeed....I suspect in 40 years we will soon be living "Idiocracy"

I am not giving up the diesel world...just the forums...this time for good....

I will move what I want to save to my website to inspire/help the people who chose to read but I won't be updating nor helping anyone else on both here and Benz....I am even taking the names off the cars...

If anyone wants to say anything to me...feel free to PM....otherwise all subscriptions have been removed and I am....OUTTAAA HEREEEEE

No, not particularly. I do know some discussions can get heated or personal, and perhaps CoolJay had one too many experiences. That's why I stick to DD and not OD. HAHAHAHA I'm not entirely sure what happened in this case. It's always sad to see a member leave us though.

I haven't noticed any hostility here but I do typically stay away from OD. I'm going to miss the updates on your cars. The amount of work you have done on the cheap is pretty impressive.

I am always sorry to see anyone leave the forum. I have not noticed Cooljay over at OD.

I would only suggest he take a week or two off and let things cool off in his mind before making a final decision.

I think he may be referring to this thread:
Lucas upper cylinder lubricant pour wrongly into the motor

Those hotheads known as Charlie (charmalu) and Tom (twalgamuth) are clearly to blame here.

Kidding aside, forums (and email) are such a hard way to communicate because it is so easy to be misunderstood. Hopefully the OP can reflect on his frustrations with the forum. and realize that they can mostly be explained away as small misunderstandings.

Cooljay I have enjoyed your posts and hope you rethink the leaving thing. I think this is the best forum around for a vintage M.B. owner.

I don't want to be overly confrontational and mean but this does sound a little bit like someone over on OD who threatens to leave - and then comes back - and then leaves - and then comes back...

...don't turn this into attention seeking...

...so come on cooljjay take a step back - deep breath - chill - join in if you want - but if your involvement and interaction with others upsets you please find a way to "just let it lie" for the sake of your own cheerfulness.

This is just a forum. There's more to life - enjoy it!

Hey Cool Jay what is the problem. You visited me in Indiana just a year ago and we had a great time and a fine dinner on the deck. Hey, now is everything down the drain because of some insignificant problem. Hey, like the ad says, "Nobody is perfect". I'm 83 years old and haven't found any one perfect. (I sometimes think I might possibly fill the bill, but can't find anyone else to agree. Well maybe my cat might.) Hey take a break. When your ready, please do come back. We will be looking forward to that.

I didn`t know I or Tom are Hot Heads.

The Girl has some problems with her Diesel Benz and came here for some help or guidance.

I thought the way he came off to some one he does not know was a bit brutal and cold.

So what if someone has a low post count. there are members from back when the Forum was started with low post counts.
Every once in a while one shows up with a problem or concern. Should we shun them because of low post count?

There is a whole lot more on the sidelines that pull info off the Forum, and never sign up.
I read for quite a while when I discovered the info from this Forum, then one day had to say something, and signed up.

Chill down

JJ, if you cannot take the virtual world, how can you take the real world? Life is always tough - your boss is always a geek and a PITA. Step back and relax, have a beer and all is well. Life is too short to get upset with a faceless person(s) sitting halfway round the world.

Sorry to see you go if it does come to that.

I noticed the arguments, and sent him a message about it, and edited them out of the thread...

I hope he stays, and I hope he messages me about the issues that were brought up.

I'm fairly decent at negating arguments, I do hope he confides in me...
