Re-posting photos

There must be a procedure for re-posting the same photo. When I try, the photo comes back with a You Have Already Used this Photo in (whatever) message.

Can we really only use a photo once?

Having the same issue. Can a Moderator, or anyone, answer this question, please?

You need to re-save the pics at a different size. Might need to rename too. Do not quite remember.

Then you should be able to repost because it thinks it is a new pic.

Thanks. Renaming makes sense. I made it work here ( http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/site-feedback/111992-please-tell-me-how-post-pictures-4.html ) in Post #50.

If you are posting the picture as a Thumbnail.

Ya. I copy the Picture and paste it to Microsoft Paint to do the changes. While it is in Paint you can find resize and skew and change the physical size of the picture and also save it using another name.

Adding text also changes it.

You can also take the picture and use the select function and draw a box around the important part of the picture and then resize that and you get an enlarged picture of only it the important part.

Here is part of a screen print of Paint to show the part you need to click on to resize an image.

Wow, that is certainly not intuitive. But picturing only the important part makes a lot of sense; will try it.

Why, when posting pics from my own computer, the images are always thumbnails?

In order to get the other type of picture posted you need to have pictures on an internet photo posting site. And then you would use the "Upload File from a URL"
The draw back to that is that if you don't keep up with your internet picture posting site they delete access and you picture no loner will show up in your post.

This is with a thumbnail.
I took the original poster's photo opened it an copied it to my computer then opened it in Paint and then I selected an area cropped out the rest and then enlarged the picture so you could more clearly see the crack in the guys Transmission Cooler line in post #10

Actually what I do do, is, I have images from other sites which I 'copy image location' & 'insert image'. sometimes this (link) does not work. Then I post the image on other sites, "where they do not show them as thumbs." One site will scale HUGE images to smaller (not thumbnails), but still click to view full sized image. This place is the only site that posts thumbs from home comps. {in my experience}. PelicanParts, a sister site does not do this, for example.

You can do this within this site. Just find the post where you've previously attached the picture, then copy it's URL. Use that in the "insert image" dialog.

If you want to paste a picture in-line (and as we know a simple paste doesn't usually work), add it as an attachment, then hit "preview". Then do as I described in the first paragraph.
