84' 280e 5 spd euro, ( of course),,,originally purchased as a ralley car. Full roll cage, plastic windows, race interior, tube bumpers, steel plate under engine, etc,,, Converted to daily driver in late 80's ( too bad ),,,

This is a daily driver. I installed the first radio in 95'. The previous owner put ac in out of a US model. It has the interior out of a mid 80's 300.

I was looking for a family car at the time. Just sold my 68' 427hp 4sp conv. corvette. ( needed a family car!!!) I drove several MB's,,,mostly turds!!! ( sorry diesel guys ). Read the sales ad for this one,,,"looks like a 240d,,,drive like a 280z". The rest is history.

My latest MB is an 86 Euro 500 SE that was brought into country by an Air Force General.It is diamond
Blue with dark blue leather interior, heated power seats.power windows, sunroof.I think leather interior is unusal for Euro model but I like it.
I replaced lower ball joints,track rod joints,tie rods, drag link,steering damper.all rotors and pads,all belts and hoses,flushed raditor put in red antifreeze,spark plugs,set of Yokohama Avid touring tires,painted rims,repaired dent in door,much cleaning,want to finish up supension and then think about timeing chains and chain guides.Fast and fun.......

280SE, W116, metallic blue & bamboo leather. Was rusted out basket case, spent 7 years restoring. Just back on road last week. Seems a little slow to me..would a V8 help? -Jack

1986 500sl - fully loaded with heated seats, leather, first gear start etc.

drives like a dream (after about $2500 worth of work)

low miles, no rust and faster than a us 560...by a long shot.

i would like to drive a 1992 euro 500e - if there is such a thing

My "dream" would either be a '91 560SE (1252 ever made) or 560SEC or an 89 300SL.
