Motor Mounts - Please Identify

Armed with fairly good tools, 6 jackstands, two jacks, a bottle jack, ramps, and guts, I'm going to try to replace my subfram and motor mounts before winter sets in.

A few questions:

1. The platic "funnels" you get in the subframe kit - do they go on the bottom of the mount or on the top? My old mounts are kind of shot and any plastic parts may have fallen/broken out. The funnels seem aas though they fit on the bottom, over the rubber.

2. Can you take a look at the picture attached and tell me if these motor mounts are for an 86-89 US 560SL? They should be - but I don't want a "big suprise" if they arent!

3. Do you HAVE to take the shocks off and torsion bar nuts off to do this?

Shocks and torsion bar do not need to be disconnected for engine mounts, just lift the engine. The challenge is getting the left side in there - not much clearance to get that part in.

Obviously you can't just "lift the engine" without loosening/disconnecting some things. Think---radiator shroud, etc. Are you going to do the engine "shocks" also? "Now is the time!" since it is way easier to get to the mounts from the top if you pull those shocks.

best,

Dave
