Question Some help to buy a R129- 300SL (-24?)

Hello, today I own a '72 450SL and I'm thinking of selling it for buying a R129.
I know a lot about the R107, but absolutly nothing about the R129 -300SL. Could you give some tips, what to look for, the bad point of these cars, etc... And should I look for a 12 or a 24 valves?...knowing that a 24 valves costs more in driving taxes and inssurance costs.
Thank you

Greg, Belgium.

Interesting. I went from a 76 450SL to a 91 300-24. Really prefer the 129. The 450 was quicker but at 14 MPG could not afford to use it's power anyway! The 129 feels more agile and tighter. And, for an old guy quick enough!
