1984 280SL Cabin Vacuum Info Needed
I am working with yet another needy 280SL that was in storage for many years. Current project is fixing vacuum leaks in the cabin. Does anyone have information on the function of the various lines that branch off the line from the intake manifold? Or better yet, have a diagram?
I have identified the following lines entering the cabin at the very left upper corner of the firewall (also the results with the MityVac): Maroon-ish - totally open, will not move the needle when evac'd Maroon-ish/grey stripe - pumps up slowly, but holds Red/green stripe - pumps up fast, falls immediately Red/tan stripe - pumps up slowly but holds Yellow - pumps up quickly, holds. Yellow/black stripe - to tank - completely open - time for the JB Weld Many thanks!
