Anyone notice this behaviour with their cruise control?
I have an '88 560sl. The cruise control works great, but there is a strange feature. The up/down works great for acceleration/deceleration. The forward/back works great for disable/resume. But if I push the control level down and forward, it will stay there (not bounce back to the default position) and the cruise control will be turned off. I cannot even turn it back on again unless I shut the engine off and start the car back up. A couple of times, I've accidentally pushed the lever into this position on a long trip and had to put the car in neutral and restart the engine. Is this typical?
