CD manuals from MBUSA are back ordered for over a month for $130.
I just got my $24 CD from manualsunlinited.com
It is a official MB manual and It seems to have a lot of good info .... can anyone tell me what's the diff and do I need the expensive CD's???
Thanks

That's a good question

Hi Drake,

I recently bought the factory 107 manual on CD for around like $15. Mine starts with an .AVI of a yellow SL driving towards you on the road. Then you click on the star emblem and dig into the manual. It's broken down by sections and appears to be the factory manual in pdf format. The only downside is it's in pieces. I've got half a mind to go into Acrobat and join all the pices together and print it out. It's like 200+ files though.

I've gotten good use out of mine already what with doing a WP change recently. I'm getting ready to do the cruise control next. I also bought the Clymer and Haynes manuals. They're all so so, but it's nice to get alternate looks at a problem.

Multi CD Manual

Thanks for the reply.
My 1 CD $24 MB Manual starts with a 300SL gulwing
and is set up the same ... some links don't work so you have manually start the pdf file. The big bucks manual I understand is a multi CD thing ?????
What has it got that the single CD manual doesn't????
Fixed my cruise control with a $10 amplifier from pick and pull
same with the idle with a controller out of a'85 380SE also $10

I have one of the cheap CD manuals for the 107 as well as the complete set of MB USA factory manuals (ebay for $100 - retail is about 4 times that if you can find them anymore). I can assure you that the CD contains about 30% of what is in the full manual and the quality of the scans on the CD tends to be very poor.

Of course it all depends on the issue you are dealing with as the CD does cover plenty of material to keep most people out of trouble. If you ever spot the manuals on ebay its worth picking up a set. They leave the CDs and the third party manuals (dont waste your money on a Haynes etc) for dead.

I had the same problem when I tried my W124 discs on a certain computer. It didn't like the Acrobat 6.0 reader, and the problem went away when I downloaded the 3.0 version.
