What is the best method to remove the discoloring on the rear window of a SL 500 ?

i was told a lot of people have a glass window installed and that it is very common in california! fortunately mine is not discolored: at least for now!

Is is really possible to install a glass window in a R129 softtop? My plastic window has been cracked for a year now. I've been reluctant to replace it since I think it will just discolor again quickly. A glass window would be great, but I can't image how one could possibly fold up.

If I believe everything that stated in the forum,I'll endup with junk car.
I would replace the rear section only($275.00)...2 hours work!
I do not have the phone # but I can get it on monday if interested.

Thanks to all that responded. I used Meguires wax on both the insdie and outside and it cleared it up perfectly. It took two applications and it looks as good as new.

I used Meguiars PlasticX on mine and it worked a treat. You have to reapply every few weeks to maintain the effect. There is a product out there called Hindsight which is reputed to be excellent, but it is quite expensive at $30 a bottle.
