A/C clutch not engaging

Hava a '92 500SL, 43k. The climate control seems to be functional (not much info in owners manual) but no cooling. Visually saw that the A/C clutch was not engaging. Have read other posts regarding possible low freon pressure. Could someone guide me to actual location of Low Refrigerant switch plus any other quick checks? Also trying to locate a wiring diagram/ manuals for this car.

I have found http://www.alldatadiy.com/ well worth the subscription. It contains a reasonable amount of techy info along with schematics etc.

From memory I think there are several switches around the condenser so maybe worth looking at. Also, clear the small glass window, force the AC on and watch for bubbles. If you see any you have low pressure.
