1976 450 sl engine carburator manifold
I am wondering if I can make manifold to replace the fuel injection? Will the dist need any of the
conections associated with the fuel injector? I have a rebuilt engine ready to install but I'm not familiar with the injector system. I was going to swap in a chevy 350. but could not sell the 450 engine. I did get almost $15,000 I bad "Q" check though and $8,500 in postal checks. So I guess I'll go the MB route. Has any one ever done this before. |

Be careful trying to stuff a 350 sbc in a MB. Not only is the oil pan sump in the rear, which means you either have to modify the cross menber or the oil pump and pan, but the Chevy trans. is slightly too big to fit under the MB trans. hump. It requires some serious modifying to get it in there.
You might try a 5 liter Ford. It has the oil sump in front and I believe the trans. is slightly smaller. I have a 280 slc parts car into which a very bad mechanic tried to put a 5 lt. He did a horrible job but the engine and trans will fit. |
