Importing an MB 300SL into UK

I am planning to send my 1992 300SL to the UK from Hong Kong. Is there anyone in the forum that has experience of the UK import requirements ie. what mechanical tests in addition to the standard UK MOT are required for imported cars and are there any unique problems to solve in respect of the 300SL.

As far as I am aware Hong Kong and the UK have the same MOT mechanical standards. Any feedback would be very welcome as the cost of shipping is GBP1500.
