94 SL600 front suspension bad seals

I'm new to this site and tried posting this is the tech talk to no avail. I also tried the search function many times, no help. I recently bought my SL and was informed the seals were bad in the front because someone used brake fluid instead of hydraulic fluid. If anybody could advise me to my options from "cheap and easy" to "done right", I would greatly appreciate it. My immediate idea's to save some money would be to see if someone could rebuild them. Another is to find used parts. I want it to handle right, so I don't wanna be too cheap and sacrifice handling.

I've already fallen in love with this car. Please help.
Thanks, Geoff

Can you be more specific? What particular components are leaking fluid?

I'm not much of a mechanic, but I was told that someone filled up the front suspension with brake fluid and now "the seals" are bad. I wish I could be more specific, but I can't right now. There's a reputable shop(Beemer & Benz) thats done a lot of work on her so far and I'll try to find out more specifics.
Thanks, Geoff

OUCH Brake Fluid in MBZ self leveling sys

If the petrolum OIL fluid in the self leveling system WAS contaminated with BRAKE FLUID (which is ester based), all the rubber components are probably ruined beyond salvaging. Brake Fluid would leave a distinct smell (of brake fluid of course).

That means REPLACING all the struts, leveling valves, accumulators/spheres, and probably a rebuild of the pump. All doen AFTER a thorough flush with petroleum based oil--I'd use 0w30 mobil 1 as flush oil. Most likely cost $5K

Ouch, 5G's is a bit much right now. I just figured out the problem with the top(leaking fluid @ left pump connector) and I really want to fix the suspension problem. I'll look for a pair of used ones for now. Thanks.
