83 500 sl fuel pump

the fuel pump is a rotary motor ,about the size of a quart jar, right rear by axle shaft. It should HUM as it runs a few seconds when you turn the key to ON.

I strongly advise you disconnect the fuel line at the fuel distributor and flush out the line real good from the tank to the end, and all the other fuel lines (and the tank) and change the fuel filter before attempting to pump fuel into the fuel distributor. Gum and/or trash pumped into the fuel distributor will cost well over $1000 to fix.

If it's been sitting like that the pump could well be seized.

I'd disconnect the connections to the fuel pump, grab a spare car battery, and jump it directly to make sure the pump works. But before I did that I'd use my test light to make sure power was getting past all the fuses, especially the one for the fuel pump. A car that has been sitting in a field for a few years can have all kinds of oxidation on the connections.
