Need some input on these wheels.

Okay I want a new set of wheels for my 90 SL, got some curb rash, and wanted to go bigger.
Really wanted to go to the 18x8.5 & 9 staggered. The AMG 5 spokes (or similiars) are my fav, but pricey at 500+ ea.

Any comments on these

FS: 18" ADR M Classic Brand New

I like the style, not my first choice, but the price is unbeatable.

I'm going to do some Googling on the wheels but wanted some other input.

Have you checked out the offset on those? Very few low price rims fit SL's.

I found a cool set of rims (non-AMG) that were supposed to fit but turned out to be a close fit. They required spacers on the front. I had to use 5mm spacers which was okay by me by I certainly wouldn't exceed 10" mm. In fact, with the SL's torque I'm not sure about using spacers on the back.

Well the book says my cars uses a 34mm offset, Tire Rack shows the Monos I like as 25mm, and another for my car as 31mm

So this shows as +35

Well need to decide if I want the Silver/Staggered or the Black

The SL is Red, two tone.

And have to convince the better half, probably won't be able to get tires for a year anyhow.

Are those wheels DOT certified?
Seems aweful cheap.

I bought a set of staggered real AMG monoblocks on eBay with good tires, all 18", for less than a grand delivered. It took some patience and time, but I got 'em.

Those wheels look like copies of a classic BBS design. Probably Asian manufacture. I didn't know wheels were DOT certified...and I'm not sure they are (sounds like something they'd do in Europe, however...)

Big Wheels

'90 SL with 19" AMG's

I think those wheels are better on a Porsche not an SL (IMHO). On my '90 300SL I installed 19" AMG's all around.

Take a look.

Thanks Waybomb, already sent him an E-Mail.

I still gotta get center caps.

I'll probably wheel bolts, or would the stock one's I have work.

If so, I had Phil send me another set last year, maybe I get them Nickel Plated !!!

PS, been checking, hadn't seen any I was interested in UNTIL NOW

I believe I had to use a different set, but I really don't remember. Between winter and summer wheels, there's just too many to think about!

Thanks Again

It'll probably be next winter before I get the tires, maybe a few good burnouts in spring hehe, so I'll have plenty of time to figure it out.

Oh, nah the tires on there are OK, worn but definitely not ready to get trashed, my rims do have a bit of curb rash though.

I only do maybe 3k a year with it.
