No headlights
The other day both of the headlites stopped working in my wifes 98 SL500. All other lights (including the fog) and blinkers work fine. I have checked the fuses in the engine compartment, all appear to be ok. What's the chance of both bulbs burning out at the same time or am I missing something else to check?

Check your fuse again - even if it looks ok, replace with a spare one to test.

As the last post said I blown headlight and one blown
fuse. My 99 C280's fog light right side, they are built into the headlight assembly, kept on going off, when I turned them on. Found out somehow the H1 bulb had worked itself loose and was making good contact. So check that headlight bulbs are full seated. On the foglight bulb I heard a dull snap when I push it in completely, not to hard either as these bulbs are delicate. Also check to see is the mounting clip is secure, as I think mine came loose as the last time I changed them I didn't get the clip inserted all the way, and also the bulb is in the correct position, those little bumps on the bulb only go one way.
