81 380 SL interior wood trim

Hope someone can help. Have an 81 380 SL. the wood trim below the radio to the top of the ashtray, the ashtray itself and the wood trim underneath the shifter that includes the window control is cracked and needs to be replaced, What part #'s should I be looking for and any suggestions as to where to find a reasonable price?

Thanks

Try a search, do a google, look on ebay. Lots of stuff out there - new, used, refinished, guys who will refinish yours.

Heritage Woodworks is the best refinisher IMO.

www.performanceparts4benz.com

They had wood interior pieces in their winter catalogue. Probably on theuir on-line catalog as well. Not Cheap, mind you. Also on Roy Spencer's site, ourSL.com, there were interior pieces offered for sale...

Good Luck!

Chuck,

I've seen the name of Heritage Woodworks mentioned before with respect to refinishing. Have you actually used them yourself? Do you have any idea how much it would cost (ballpark figure) for them to refinish or replace all the dash and console trim for a 1987 560SL? I don't know if I will replace everything, but I want to get an outside figure. Thanks in advance.

If it's just the clear finish that's cracked, it's not hard to restore.

If the very thin wood veneer is damaged, then you might want to replace it.
