Removing engine cover??? 99 SL500

Don't yet have a manual for my 99 SL500. How do you access Air Filters. I'm able to get front cover off but not the rear....just pull up??? don't want to break plastic.

Thanks

engine cover

Just pull the cover up from the front, it uses metal clips on rubber blocks for fastenning to the engine the rear of the cover fits around the MAF by a rubber seal, the filters are inside the cover. 4 torx head screws each underneath.

cover

By the way there is a rectangular rubber piece under the lip of the front cover by the oil filter that prevents the front cover from rubbing against the valve cover, don't loose it
