Mono valve?

Hi, I would like to know where the mono valve is located on my 1989 560Sl mercedes. My heat works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. The cr can be running ,everything is blowing ok, but no heat. I turn the engine off and start it back up, the heater will start working and then sometimes start blowing cold air again. Any suggestions of what is causing this? Also just about everytime that I wash my Sl after awhile it will not start, seems something is getting wet but I don't know what. I can let it sit awhile and then it will start. Any suggestions there also? Thanks[IMG]http://www.hilmark.com/560.JPG[IMG]

The monovalve is on the RH side of the firewall, and there is a repair kit available that fixes it most of the time. However, there are a lot of other things that can cause probs in this area. For one thing, there is a small electric motor near the monovalve that forces water through the heater core (not much water flow at idle), which may be bad, or the control or power to it may be bad. There is a tiny thermal switch that controls it (I just read this tonight). The HVAC system on this car is really complex. Sorry I don't have an easy answer.

I've been looking at those wheels also. Did you eBay them? Are they 15 or 16"? Painted or chromed (might be painted?). Very nice.

Thanks

Hi, thanks for the info. They are painted wheels and I purchased them from a dealer near my home town.
